Jaime Corssen Knows Oyster Bay

Jaime Corssen correctly identified the photo in the May 29 issue of the Oyster Bay Enterprise Pilot as, "The Sagamore Rowing Regatta held at Centre Island Beach. I know because I was in the regatta with Our Lady of Mercy's team and we came in first place."

Billy Minicozzi correctly identified the village where the photo was taken. He said it was "the West Harbor beach in Bayville with tents up for a show." That was a great guess. The tents were put up by the parents and supporters of the rowing groups.

Billy also had a sports note: he was very interested in the game between the Devils and the Mighty Ducks!

And, we had another answer from last week, that came in too late to publish. Steve Gilroy said, "The mystery picture is the front door of Sagamore Hill. I used to be a park ranger there in the '70s and '80s and I think I recognize it!"
