Memorial Garden Is Dedicated
About 100 people gathered on Saturday, May 10 on the western waterfront to participate in the dedication of the new memorial garden created in remembrance of our "Friends, Neighbors and Loved Ones: the innocents lost on September 11, 2001" in the attack on the World Trade Center.

Caboose #12 Home in Oyster Bay
Caboose #12 is finally at home in Oyster Bay. The ex-Long Island Rail Road caboose made the final leg of its journey home to Oyster Bay on May 13 and 14.

LI Scholastic Rowing Championships
The Long Island Scholastic Rowing Championships held on Saturday, May 3 at Centre Island Beach in Bayville was a big success. The Regatta was an invitational for Long Island's high school crew teams only. Eleven high school crew teams were in attendance at the Regatta (over 400 participants) including several teams local to Oyster Bay. The event has been held annually on the first weekend in May for the past several years. This year's regatta was co-sponsored by Sagamore Rowing Association and the Cold Spring Harbor High School Crew Team. Many thanks to the volunteers and to the TOB Parks & Recreation Dept., Village of Bayville, Bayville Fire Dept., Oyster Bay Constable, and the Nassau County Police Marine Patrol and Second Precinct for making this year's Regatta a pleasurable experience for the participants.

Heard on the Bay
Once again, Wednesday night sailboat racing is back in Oyster Bay. The racing is sponsored by The Sagamore Yacht Club, and is open to anyone who wants to come out and sail. Last Wednesday was the first race of the season. The weather couldn't have been more perfect, at 6 p.m., the skies went from cloudy to clear, with a full moon over Cove Neck.
