The girls' intramural basketball program has concluded its 2003 season. The championship games were very exciting especially in the sixth through eighth grade division where the Mystics coached by Michael Glancy squeaked out a victory over the Liberty, coached by Randy Todd and Tony Capozzoli by the score of 17-16. In the fourth-and fifth-grade division, the Sooners coached by Kate Sinnott and Allen Neuendorf defeated the Volunteers coached by Randy Todd, Paul Longo and Nick Chakiryan 17-9. Thank you to all the coaches who helped to make this season fun and exciting for all the girls who participated.
There were several awards for the players this year; a co-MVP award was given to Kate Applequist and Danielle Capozzoli in the sixth-to eighth-grade division and the MVP in the fourth-and fifth-grade division was Kelsey Todd. The Sportsmanship award was given to Tara McWalters in the sixth-to-eighth grade division and Meghan Cerrone in the fourth-and fifth-grade division. Most Improved Player awards were given to Olivia Lucas, Sara Lemar, Catherine Kennedy and Julie Albanese in the sixth to eighth grade division, and Avery Hourihan, Kat Fressle, Kerri Apicella and Carolyn Regan in the fourth and fifth grade division.
