Bay Day Is Different This Year
Bay Day - Saturday, June 7 - is going to be bigger, better and more far reaching than ever before. Besides having a new component, a large community garage sale being run by the Rotary Club of Oyster Bay, it will have the participation of one of the newest groups in town, the Coast Guard Auxiliary. The auxiliary used another large event, last year's Oyster Festival to recruit its first 15 charter members.

Coast Guard Auxiliary: A New Job
There will be a new presence on the Oyster Bay Harbor as the Coast Guard's newest auxiliary establishes itself here. The public has long viewed the CGA as a group that is concerned with boater safety, but the group has taken on a new role, today, as it is now under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Boys & Girls Club Sports Report
The girls' intramural basketball program has concluded its 2003 season. The championship games were very exciting especially in the sixth through eighth grade division where the Mystics coached by Michael Glancy squeaked out a victory over the Liberty, coached by Randy Todd and Tony Capozzoli by the score of 17-16. In the fourth-and fifth-grade division, the Sooners coached by Kate Sinnott and Allen Neuendorf defeated the Volunteers coached by Randy Todd, Paul Longo and Nick Chakiryan 17-9. Thank you to all the coaches who helped to make this season fun and exciting for all the girls who participated.

Ducks Unlimited Conference May 9-11
Everyone interested, is invited to attend the Ducks Unlimited NYS Convention. It is being held May 9 -11 at the Friar Tuck Resort in the Catskills. It is to increase awareness, communication and an understanding of Ducks Unlimited in New York State. Learn more about DU's conservation programs locally, nationally and internationally from the DU conservation managers. Come to have fun and share some great experiences!
