Oyster Bay Rallies 'Round the Flag
It was a night for being raucously American as the crowd was encouraged to yell out "U-S-A; U-S-A; U-S-A," in support of our troops in Iraq on Thursday night, April 3 at the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park in Oyster Bay. Best of all, everything came together as people were asked to come to the microphone and give the name of their friend, relative, loved one serving in the armed forces. Men, women and children, parents, sweethearts and friends walked up, took a turn at the microphone to speak the names of those they are connected to who are serving in the armed forces in "Operation Iraqi Freedom."

Rave Reviews for Obies Juice & Java
Obies Juice and Java, at 30 East Main St. had a "soft opening" on Wednesday, April 2, with an "Open for Business" status as of Monday April 7. It opened to rave reviews from the visitors at the event. There was free coffee for customers on Monday. The front glass window gives a full view of the fun inside. The best thing is that in warm weather, even though the store is air conditioned, the partitioned glass window can be open to the street, making it an outdoor café, said Alex Putterman, facilities manager for the architectural plans for Obies.

Oyster Bay East Norwich Soccer Club News
On April 6, 2003 our intramural teams marked the opening of the spring season. The children were prepared for the day by the NY Power and Lady Rider training sessions, which were held indoors in March. The Club is pleased to announce it will continue with professional training for the intramural children in the spring. The sessions will be held on Mondays at the Roosevelt Park field adjacent to the picnic grounds at the South Street entrance. The sessions will start on 4/28 and include 5/5 - 5/12 - 5/19 and 6/2. The free sessions will be age group specific with ages broken up as follows:

United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Boating Course Starts May 5
A boating course for young boat operators, ages 10 through 17, starts Tuesday, May 5, 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bayville Community Center located at 88 Bayville Avenue, Bayville.
