It's always interesting when no one calls to correctly identify the mystery picture. It usually results in new callers, which we always look forward to at the Oyster Bay Enterprise Pilot.
Billy Minicozzi recognized the picture was of a gazebo, but missed the location. Billy wanted to thank the people who helped him last week who took him to the hospital after an accident at work, He said, "I'm feeling much better."
A phone call came Friday afternoon, March 18, from Northville, Michigan. It was Anne Marie Fallek who grew up in East Norwich. She graduated from St. Dominic High School. She reads the Enterprise Pilot on the Internet and loves the mystery picture. (Of course!) She guessed the picture was, "The gazebo in downtown Oyster Bay across from the post office and town hall." She remembered when they took down the black walnut tree in East Norwich, remembers Vernon as a Middle School and remembers the Wesley Methodist Chicken Barbecues. East Norwich's big annual event. Anne Marie is happily married and has a son.
And... We got a mystery picture call late Monday night, after we had gone to press identifying the March .. picture. It was from Regina Brandt Reddick who said, "It's the old movie theater in Pine Hollow that turned into the BMW dealership. The picture was shot from across the street at the Lizza property or the Mill-Max property."
She was the only person who mentioned the site as the movie theater. Thank you for calling Regina!
