We received a letter about the delay in getting something into the newspapers. The letter left us feeling badly, and we want to clear the air.

It is amazing how many things are always going on locally. Last Sunday was a case in point. The Lions held a pancake breakfast at the Doubleday Babcock Center in the morning. There was a performance of The Sound of Music at the Oyster Bay High School auditorium for the benefit of the auditorium restoration. It was also the afternoon Andrew Batten, former director of Raynham Hall Museum returned to do a cooking demonstration on what the Irish servants would have had for their St. Patrick's Day celebration.

So much to do and so little time. Add into our schedule the desire to tell as complete a story as we can and things and time can get out of hand.

Actually we delight in knowing there is another story almost ready for the newspaper. It's great to squirrel away a story for future use when there might not be enough time to do another story. Currently there are about five stories that are in the hopper. When they come out is determined by what happens next week. Sometimes a real hot story blows everything away and we just go for the big news - which usually means a story that affects the largest number of residents.

We aim to please. We sometimes miss. We are delighted to hear you care. We are trying.
