Economic Redevelopment Plans
Nassau County Executive Thomas Suozzi brought his redevelopment trunk show to Oyster Bay on March 4. The day began with a bus tour for heads of local organizations and ended with a public forum at the Oyster Bay High School Auditorium. After the tour and the public meeting Mr. Suozzi said to residents, "You're very lucky you have a good consensus for what you want in Oyster Bay and Bayville."

Tour Highlights: Locals Illuminate Issues
Problems and solutions filled the air as the Suozzi Economic Development bus tour looked at Economic Development Area 4. It gave a great view of what is happening in the entire area. As the bus drove by the recently closed Hallock Chevrolet dealership, Abraham Poznanski of Island Properties said he is planning residential use for the site. He is applying to the town for a Special Use permit for putting up high-end apartments, he said.

Heard on the Bay
As we write this, spring is less than two weeks away. It has been a long, cold, hard winter for almost everyone. We spent the winter in Southwest Florida, and were in and out of New York twice, just long enough to feel how bitter cold it was. After experiencing some of the cold weather up north, we were ashamed of ourselves complaining that it was too cool in the mornings to have breakfast on the patio.
