Congratulations to all the Oyster Bay High School students who took part in the musical production the Boy Friend. It was great to be in the audience and watch the faces of the ticket holders. They sat on the edge of their seats, watching the student actors, singers and dancers.
During the introduction we spotted some singing the words quietly. The Boy Friend has great songs and the interaction among the players was wonderful.
Once again we thank the students and the teachers who made the production possible. The musicals are an intergenerational link among people. It is good to see students sharing in our cultural past as well as learning a great deal about performing in public.
They were a delight to watch and listen to. Thank you one and all.
And, a reminder: There will be a benefit performance for the auditorium fund of The Sound of Music by the Plaza Theatrical Productions on Sunday, March 16 at 2 p.m. at the Oyster Bay High School. Tickets are $15 for adults; $12 for seniors and $7 for students. There is a family package for two adults and two children for $40. Call 624-6534 for information. With the great sound equipment and lighting facilities in place, the school now needs to raise money for the seats and the painting and plastering. The installation of the seats and the painting and plastering will be done at one time. Just imagine how wonderful productions will be then!
In the foyer of the high school there was a continuous scroll of names of families and businesses that have donated seats ($250 each) to the auditorium project. They need your name to add to the list.
