Billy Minicozzi identified the mystery picture as "An oyster boat or a lobster boat going out in the harbor in Oyster Bay with a lot of ice in the harbor." He said the Town of Oyster Bay did a great job cleaning up all the snow. Hopefully there will be no more snow," he said.

Stan Kaufman of Bayville emailed us a response: "I sure do know where the photo was taken. That's the Ida May. It's docked at the pier in front of the Waterfront Center by Beekman's Beach. I was there last week photographing the frozen bay and took my own version of that scene." He emailed us a copy of his photol

The photograph in the newspaper was taken by Robert Fitzpatrick of East Norwich.

Rob Crafa, executive director of the WaterFront Center gave us the scoop on the boat. "It's the Ida May, one of the Frank M. Flower oyster boats. The volunteers and Mr. Crafa were pumping it out on Monday, Feb. 24. "It's at our dock waiting to be hauled out once the ice clears. It will be an upland exhibit at the WaterFront Center. It was built in 1925 and the cost of restoration was prohibitive," he said. "It will be perfect to be an on land exhibit."

Our mystery man called to say the picture was too easy to identify, and asked about the picture that was never identified in the Feb. 6 issue.

He called just in time because our next caller got the right location. Barbara Harley called to say the Feb. 6 picture hadn't been identified. She said, "It's a bunch of people on the beach in West Harbor in Bayville." It is Centre Island Beach and it was the reason Friends of the Bay Row Around had the people lined up with their oars.
