"Three Great Presidents," Presidents' Day Contest sponsored by Raynham Hall Museum, The Book Mark Café, Youngs Farm and the Oyster Bay Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution was a great success. Children in grades two through six were asked to enter the Poem and Art Contest by writing an original poem about George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and/or Theodore Roosevelt. The participants were invited to attend the awards ceremony on Thursday, Feb. 13, at Raynham Hall Museum followed by an open house and a reception with light refreshments.
The prizes awarded included gift certificates redeemable only at the Book Mark Café. The prizes were: 1st prize - $30, 2nd prize - $20, 3rd prize - $10. In addition all the winners received a cherry pie, compliments of Youngs Farm and a special gift from the DAR.
The prize-winning artwork and writing was on exhibit at Raynham Hall Museum, 20 West Main Street from Feb. 13 to Feb. 20. In addition, For further information, please call Raynham Hall Museum at 922-6808.
