Good Food, Good Friends, Good Future
The Oyster Bay Chamber of Commerce is in a good position. Coming out of a well-orchestrated year, they are already involved in events for this year. Their new 2003 slate of officers were inducted at their Feb. 6 meeting held at the Doubleday Babcock Senior Center. The meeting was well attended as the group convened at DBSC instead of the Homestead restaurant, where the group usually meets as the restaurant undergoes renovations. Arlene O'Leary of Fiddleheads catered the dinner.

CITE Inaugural Meeting
The Community Integration Time Exchange (CITE) program was introduced to the community on a cold Wednesday, Jan. 22 at the Silveri Center of St. Dominic Church. The program is intended to make Oyster Bay a warmer community.

Oyster Bay Students Earn Gold Medals
The Nassau County Zone of the NYS Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance recently awarded gold medals to Katie Daub and George DiFede, seniors at Oyster Bay High School. "The award recognizes these students' outstanding achievements in athletics, scholarship and citizenship," noted John Piropato, athletic director.

OBEN PAL Spring Registration Begins
Registration for the Oyster Bay-East Norwich PAL teams is currently taking place. Joe Ranaldo, OBEN PAL board president said they have about 400 kids in their group. He has been president for about eight years. "I've been doing PAL for about 14 years. My son is now 22 and he was 9 years old when I began," he said. Besides the baseball clinic, girls softball, boys baseball and karate, they also have girls volleyball and girls basketball.
