Paul Keller of Bayville said, "The mystery picture was an old photo of a home located on the north side of West Main Street, behind Snounder's. Currently it's a commercial building. Hopefully I am right." He is.
Belle Santora, 91 years young, said, "Is that the Masonic Temple. It was the old hotel, many years ago. Then they altered and remodeled it. I recognized it from the front porch. It was the only building that had a front porch."
Leven Ashby answered by e-mail, saying, "All I see in my minds eye is; 'Masonic Lodge' a little ways down from Snouder's Corner Drugstore. If I'm right I used to pass it everyday going and coming from school. In the 40s and 50s that is."
Billy Minicozzi guessed the mystery photo was a big old house in Mill Neck." On a sports note, he said, "It's too bad that the Jets lost to the Raiders. Maybe the Oakland Raiders and the Tampa Bay Buckineers will be in the Super Bowl." On a positive note, he is counting the days till spring.
The old photograph identifies the building as the Oyster Bay Inn.
