Vernon Students Honor War Veterans
During a special assembly at the Vernon School on Nov. 8, two visiting local war veterans helped make Veterans Day more meaningful for students. "Before you can honor them, you must know who veterans are," emphasized Reginald Butt, a past commander of the American Legion who spent 20 years in the Navy.

Friends of Raynham Hall board member Lillian Soricillo, chairman of their education committee wants to create more educational events for adults to complement their great outreach to school children. This year, on Nov. 7, she led a visit to the Henry Luce III center at the New York Historical Society. It was a great experience to see how the society has improved its research facilities.

Sagamore Rowing Association 6th Annual Frostbite Regatta
Sagamore Rowing Association held its 6th Annual Long Island Frostbite Regatta on Saturday, Nov. 2. "The regatta was a short and sweet event. It was an abbreviated version: instead of an all day event. They bunched events together for a great three hours," said Claudia J. Pace of the program committee.
