It may have been 105 degrees outside - but inside - former Oyster Bay resident Eric Ferber was hot-hot-hot as he helped lead his Pee Wee ice hockey team to victory in the annual Disney Ice Hockey Tournament held the first week of September in Anaheim, CA.

Ferber who is 11 years old, is the son of former Oyster Bay residents Steve and Lori Ferber. He is the goalie for the DYHA Firebirds competitive travel hockey team as well as Team Excalibur Travel Roller Hockey Team, both based in Scottsdale, AZ.

The Firebirds won all five of their tournament games. In the tournament Ferber allowed just two goals and posted a shutout in the finals beating the Ventura California Mariners 2-0.

What made this victory even sweeter was the fact that the team, which is selected from among the top 11-12-year-old ice hockey players in Arizona, had just finished selecting their team five days before the start of the tournament.
