Rail Road History Recalled
The LIRR arrived at Oyster Bay on June 24, 1889. One hundred years later, on June 24, 1989 only a small group of historians met at Oyster Bay to mark the occasion. All they did was to say a few words to each other and that was it.

Rotary Giving Away Money!
The Rotary Club of Oyster Bay shared some of the profits from Oyster Festival 2001 with local groups at a recent meeting. Checks were presented to Barbara Hadel, executive director of the Doubleday Babcock Senior Center; Christine Mills of the Main Street Association and Loretta Murray of Mill Neck Services Day Hab Center in Oyster Bay.

KidsDay at the Waterfront Center Is a Big Success
Aug. 4 was National KidsDay, a day for adults and kids to spend meaningful time together. Boys & Girls Clubs across the country planned parties, parades and major events in celebration of this important day. Locally, the Boys & Girls Club of Oyster Bay-East Norwich, the Waterfront Center and the Oyster Bay Anglers, planned a day of fun for members and their families.
