Gregory Van Dyke built The Sagamore Pearl, one of two corporate competitors in Anything That Floats Race. The other boat was made by Mill Max Mfg. and was easily the winner of the race. The team was made up of Mike Phillips, Pete Langdon, Charlie Galasso, Marcus Holenstein and Mike Gargan!

For its part, The Sagamore Pearl won in the best costume category. The ladies of the crew wore ropes of pearls and sported red, white and blue ribbons in their hair. When they raced they wore different colored life jackets.

Their boat was crafted by Gregory Van Dyke whose two daughters, Erin and Jaimie (aka Pumpkin) were aboard the vessel along with Shelley Sue Williams and Cathy Schuler. "The boat looks nice, but we are going to lose," said Kate Schuler. "We haven't practiced at all. We're going to be the comic relief act."

Actually that was a good description of the race. The Mill Max team did practice and they were swift and sure on their way to the finish line. The ladies were a lot of fun ending up with their arms raised in a "Rocky" salute as they hit the beach.

When Rob announced they won the best dressed category for the race he added, laughing, "They just won Friends of the Bay shirts and hats!"
