Evelyn Gruber, called to identify the mystery picture and said simply, "It's the Dahlia Gardens in Planting Fields." She is exactly right, it is. The picture was actually taken at the introduction of the garden by NYS Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Commissioner Bernadette Castro. Peter Tilles was a big contributor to the garden.

The blooms are grown by people all over the area. The flowers are large, long-lasting and come in a great variety of colors and forms.
