Last week's picture
|
Do you know where this weekıs picture was taken? If you do, call the Enterprise-Pilot at 747-8282 and let us know. If you have a picture that you think might be interesting for others to guess, drop it off in our box at Village Camera, 128 South Street, Oyster Bay.
Billy Minicozzi said, "Last week's mystery picture is the swing set at Theodore Roosevelt Park in Oyster Bay. It is where the Bayville firemen have their picnic every July." On a sports note, Billy said, "Come June, I'd like to see the LA Lakers and the NJ Nets in the National Baseball Association finals."
Kathy Errico of Oyster Bay said, "The mystery picture is the small children's park in TR Park. It's closest to the marina and looking toward the baseball field. The back of it is by the train station."
James Sepulveda, who is 6 years old and goes to the Roosevelt elementary school and couldn't talk because his tonsils were just taken out still managed to squeak out, "I know the mystery place, it's the little beach park by the train!"
Ten-year-old Dan Sepulveda also called. He goes to the Vernon School and said, "It's the little park on the beach where the trains are."
"The mystery picture is the Roosevelt Park down by the water," said Stephanie Murdock, who is in ninth-grade and is reading Great Expectations.
Sarah Gershon, called to say, "The mystery picture is the baby playground at the back of Roosevelt Park."
Teal Carter, called to say, "The mystery picture is the small park in the park."
There are lots of ways to describe the small playground, we said.
Last Week's Mail
"Last week's picture is the top of the Post Office in Oyster Bay," said Peggy Bundas. "I work at Dodds & Eder. I am at the post office every day and it certainly looks like that to me," she said on Friday, April 5.
We received an e-mail from Leven Ashby that said for last week's mystery photo: "I believe it's the cupola atop Oyster Bay Town Hall. If I'm off on this I'm going to bury my head in the sand." "Don't do that Leven! You are very close, it's across the street from town hall on the post office building," we said in answer to his guess.
