This year's Community Foundation of Oyster Bay fund raising is coming along well, but there is still a great gap to reach their goal of $200,000 this year. Much of the success of the Community Foundation of Oyster Bay is the assurance that the funds raised will be used to benefit local people. Marie Knight was, so to speak, "knighted" by the Oyster Bay Town Board, for what she has done for the hamlet. She was one of eight "Women of Distinction" honored at their March 19 meeting. Vytra Health Plans and the Greater Long Island Running Club are combining their resources on Saturday morning, April 27, to stage the Vytra Human Race 5 Kilometer Run, with the entire net proceeds of the run to be turned over to The Center for Developmental Disabilities, whose Children's Campus is located on South Woods Road in Woodbury.
