Otto Family and OB Power Squadron Present Gifts to Firefighters Burn Center
The Oyster Bay Power Squadron and Wilma Otto presented a check for $1,150 to the New York Firefighters Burn Center Foundation in a ceremony at the Sagamore Yacht Club recently.

Senate Commemorates September 11
Six months after the horrific attack on the World Trade Center, Senator Carl L. Marcellino (R, Syosset) announced on March 11, that the New York State Senate passed three bills to commemorate September 11 as an official day of remembrance. The legislation will require the American flag to be flown at half-staff at public buildings and encourage the display of the flag throughout the state on that day.

OBHS Champion Girls Hoops Team
The Oyster Bay Girls Varsity Basketball team had a great season. The top-seeded team won their Class C Division over second place Cold Spring Harbor, 51 to 43. They then put icing on their cake with a win over Eastport High School in Suffolk.

Heard on the Bay
We've have been sailing for nine years. We are not writing this column as authorities, in fact, we are usually fair weather sailors. We have always kept a log on all of our time spent on the water. Even if all we did was pick up dinner-to-go from Mario's Italian restaurant, rush out to the boat, sail into West Harbor, eat dinner, and watch a sunset before returning home. Just a few hours out on the water, and there is usually something special to write in our log. Our goal is to share a little of what we have experienced on the water and in our homeport, Oyster Bay Harbor.
