The Boys & Girls Club of Oyster Bay-East Norwich concluded their inaugural season of Boys Intramural Basketball. In the 6th, 7th and 8th grade division, the Lakers, coached by Peter Accetta, edged out the Wizards, coached by Guy Pelling and Jim Meyerdierks, 70-60 for the division title. The recipient of the Most Valuable Player Award was Pat Linden and the Sportsmanship Award was Paul Golluscio.

In the 4th and 5th grade division, the Scarlet Knights, coached by Ronnie Ranaldo and Goerge Gowe, defeated the Red Storm, coached by James Robinson and Kevin Finn, 40-28 to win the division. The recipient of the Most Valuable Player Award was Morgan Jansen and the Sportsmanship Award was Christian Siple.

The Boys & Girls Club would like to extend a special thanks to all the volunteers who made the basketball program fun and educational for all the participants.

Registration for the 2002 Girls Intramural Basketball Program is now in progress. The registration fee is $35 and will only be accepted through the mail. Applications may be picked up at the clubhouse.

The club has open gym for 7th and 8th grades from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and Open Gym for 9th through 12th grades from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 8:30 p.m. to 12 a.m. on Friday evenings. This is a great opportunity to brush up on your basketball skills for the upcoming seasons. Fourth through sixth grades have a variety of age appropriate structured activities daily from 4:45 to 5:20 p.m.
