Editorials are always a challenge. Oftentimes, as we consider what is inside the pages of the week's Oyster Bay Enterprise Pilot a theme seems to appear. This week's editorial is to thank all those people who have contributed to your look inside Oyster Bay.

A thank you to Denise Woodin for sharing photos of the Friends of the Bay brunch that took place while we were away at Quilting By The Lake in SUNY Morrisville.

Denise also took photos of the Friends of the Bay/Sagamore Yacht Club race and their brunch. Both stories are delightful and we want to thank her for them. Don't miss the race story on page three.

Thanks also go to Nancy McKloskey, the Oyster Bay-East Norwich public information person, her photos of the first day of school are delightful. It is great to see the parents and children as they start the exciting journey of education.

Another thank you goes to the Young Autism Program Charitable Foundation in Medford for sending the photos of the Teddy's Boys of the Oyster Bay Fire Company No. 1.

And a thank you to Connie Clarke and Lisa Cuomo at Raynham Hall Museum for photos of their Neighborhood Nights. We were planning on bringing our dinner and attending but we were busy writing another story and didn't realize what the day was until about 8 p.m. and missed the fun.

We can't be everywhere, and we are very grateful when we receive photos and stories about community residents who "are there," and will share their pictures with us. That's our focus. We keep our eyes on the community. So another thank you - this time to Jack Scheich, president of the Committee to Beautify East Norwich. A thank you to the Oyster Bay Republican Club for the information on their new office and a thank you to the Town of Oyster Bay office of public information for their government news, and to Kathy Wilson, communications director for NYS Senator Carl Marcellino for state news.

There are always great stories out there, and we just want to keep bringing them to you.

By the way, we had a family birthday to celebrate on Sunday, and missed one of our favorite events, the Bluefish Tournament. We will get a photo from the Town of Oyster Bay, but if you have pictures you would like to share with our readers, we'd be delighted to run them. We have a drop box at Pleasant Valley Gallery & Gifts at 101 South Street, and that reminds us of another person we have to thank: proprietor Claire Bellerjeau!

Also, we want to thank Palma Douglass for a photograph that will be appearing in next week's paper and a thank you to Tom McGee for a picture of his grandchild in this week's paper. And, a big thanks to Fran Raymon who has helped us over the years because of her gift of identifying photos on the phone!

Thank you to Gregory Druhak for his coverage of the Swim-Across: the water views that we used recently. They were unique.

As people who arrange things know, making a list of people you want to thank is dangerous, you are always afraid you have left out someone. In case we did, here's a "Big Hug" as LaLa the Tellatubby always says. - DFK
