  • NEWS: Terrorists Destroy Twin Towers

    Tuesday, Sept. 11 - At 8:45 a.m. a hijacked American Airlines passenger jet crashed into one of the 110-story Twin Towers at the World Trade Center in lower Manhattan. 18 minutes later a second hijacked American Airlines passenger jet crashed into the other tower. Both crashes caused firey explosions and within an hour and a half both of the towers collapsed. FULL STORY

    Town of Oyster Bay Landmark to House Two Organizations -- The Oyster Bay Chamber of Commerce is moving to the Weekes-Wilson House, an Oyster Bay Town Landmark building, at the end of September. The decision was approved at the Thursday, Sept. 6 meeting. Chamber members met for dinner at the Book Mark Café to plan their fall events. FULL STORY

  • SPORTS: 'Friends' Take to the Bay

    Sailors and Environmentalists Set Sail in Annual Race -- With a steady breeze of ten knots and a blue-stained sky, Sunday, Sept. 2 promised to be the perfect day for the sailors of the Third Annual Friends of the Bay Race. Hosted by Sagamore Yacht Club, this year's race was open to all members of the public and was organized jointly with Friends of the Bay, the local non-profit environmental organization for whom the race was named.
