OBC Asks But Doesn't Give
In a letter to the Oyster Bay Water Commissioners, Oyster Bay Cove Mayor Michael Peragine accused board chairman John DeBellis of unfair negotiations. In the letter to the board the mayor said, "We will continue to do all we can to ensure that every OBC Village resident has public water, short of acquiescing to blackmail." For his part, Commissioner DeBellis wants an answer to a 1998 application for a cellular connection on the Berry Hill Water Tower located in Oyster Bay Cove.

Memorable Time Capsule Event
Students at the Vernon School had a chance to look at the world as it was in 1963. On display in the foyer of the building were artifacts from the Bermingham Elementary School Time Capsule. The capsule was opened at a Vernon School Town Meeting earlier this year and was great fun to watch.

Locals Help Bayhawks Soar
The St. Dominic Bayhawks played in their first NSCHSAA Baseball Championship game since 1981. Reaching further than anyone believed they would go, the Bayhawks compiled a record of 17-11 and made it to the championship series against the Chaminade Flyers.

Green Vale's Girls' Lacrosse Team Finishes 11-1 Season!
The girls' lacrosse team at the Green Vale School played its last game of the season on May 17 against Kellenberg's J.V. squad and won by a score of 18-6. With that win, the girls ended the season with 11 wins and 1 loss. Coaches Chery Webb and Susan Heard have nothing but praise for the girls' hard work and team effort.
