  • NEWS: Conceptual Plans of Island Properties Offered

    The long-awaited news about the plans of Island Properties, the real estate venture of Charles Wang, Sanjay Kumar and Abraham Poznanski, received a luke-warm reception. Members of the Oyster Bay Civic Association were given a glimpse of conceptual plans for the former Hallock property on South Street. The site was approved for a Special Use Permit for a 112- unit assisted living facility before it was bought by Island Properties. Abraham Poznanski of IP brought with him, Michael Saltzman of the Hillier Group of Princeton, New Jersey to present their ideas. The meeting was held on Thursday, May 17 at the Italian-American Club on Summit Street. FULL STORY

  • NEWS: Oyster Bay Aces Budget/Bond

    The Oyster Bay-East Norwich School Board received a mandate from the voters to finish the capital improvements project they began a dozen years ago. In the front lobby of the new gymnasium addition to the high school, last minute voters were pulling the levers. There weren't too many to pull, just six in this uncontested election. FULL STORY

  • SPORTS: Oyster Bay Stormers Win Sportsmanship Award

    After only one season playing together as a team the Oyster Bay Stormers Under 10 girls won the coveted bronze Sportsmanship Award from the Long Island Junior Soccer League. The award is given to well turned out teams that display a good sense of fair play and cooperation both on and off the field. It also takes into account the behavior of supporters and the coach.   • SPORTS: OBEN PAL Track Meet Results

    Once again OBEN track runners put their best foot forward at Mitchel Field. The runners are training hard and developing new skills. Many are practicing the long jump. Eight of the runners represented the team on the field for the long jump event this week. Congratulations to Nicole Ottaiano for placing first in her first attempt at long jump. You go girl, Emily Hoffman, the only runner to attempt the 200m. Ali Dando, with a strained calf, legged out 1st place in the 100 m. Thank you Elizabeth Nihill for attending the practices and meets with the best spirit for running. FULL STORY
