Hamlet Development Moratorium?
The Oyster Bay Civic Association has proposed a moratorium on development until the Quality Communities traffic plan for the hamlet is completed. The suggestion was made to Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor John Venditto, and he seemed interested in the idea.

Woman Journalist Gets Her Story
Marie Colvin has earned her award as the Best Foreign Correspondent in the British Press Awards, many times over with events that happened last week. A foreign correspondent with the London Sunday Times this class of 1974 Oyster Bay High School graduate has faced danger as a regular component of her career. She faced her most life threatening danger, being hit by a grenade thrown at her in Sri Lanka on Monday, April 16.

Undefeated Again...Three-Peat for the Tornadoes!
The Oyster Bay Tornadoes, U-13 girls, played an indoor league for the winter season. It consisted of eight weekly games where they met with different travel teams in their division. The games were played in Northport and were run by Globall Soccer Concepts.

Wildcats Win Indoor Tournament
The Oyster Bay Wildcats Indoor Squad took first place in the Coindre Hall Indoor Soccer Tournament by defeating the Albertson Lightning 4-0 in the championship game for the boys U14 group. This is the second indoor championship for the Wildcats in the past three years. The Wildcats went undefeated throughout the sixteen game season, which was played over eight weeks. Much of the credit goes to our goalie Eric Multer and our defensemen, Brian Sheehy, Scott Witthuhn, Nicholas Capozzo and Bobby Gartland, who gave up only 13 goals in 16 games. Of course we can't forget the three leading goal scorers in the tournament, Fabian (23 goals), Dan Mortensen (21), Nick Chakiryan (13).
