Fox on Fire for Festival
Mark Fox, is trying to light a fire under the organizers of the Oyster Festival in an attempt to keep it alive. Aware of that interest the Oyster Bay Chamber of Commerce has rescheduled its March 1 general meeting to The Homestead Restaurant which has room for a what can become a public forum to discuss the festival. It is listed on the agenda as "Oyster Festival?"

Be Among First 100 Viewers
Theodore Roosevelt's Congressional Medal of Honor will be at Sagamore Hill National Historic Park on Monday, April 2. The public is invited to see it, free of charge that day. Tweed Roosevelt will give a presentation on the hill, with students of Vernon Third Grade Teacher Richard Siegelman in attendance. The students have been waiting to see the medal, for a long time.

Three Bands, Two Races, One Bay
Plans are afloat for a great day on the bay, June 2. Bay Day is a community festival to celebrate the waters of Oyster Bay and Cold Spring Harbor. Bay Day will be held on Beekman Beach and will feature environmental exhibits and water-related recreational activities, including Friends of the Bay's two popular events: the Row Around Oyster Bay and Anything That Floats Race as well as three bands to entertain the crowd.

Green Vale Wins Buckley Basketball Tournament
On Friday, Feb. 2, the boys' basketball team from The Green Vale School won the Buckley Tournament for the second year in a row. The team faced tough opponents, but defeated Lawrence-Woodmere Academy, East Woods School and Buckley School. High scorers for Green Vale were Jared Steller, Aadam Brown and Ray Penzi. Green Vale's record for the season is now 14 wins and one loss.
