The Long Island Lightning AAU basketball organization will be fielding a very competitive 9th grade boys 15 and under (born on or after 9/01/1985) AAU travel team.

If your idea of fun is to enhance your overall competitiveness in playing against the best competition in the New York Metropolitan area. Willing to practice at least twice a week from March through June and participate in tournaments during the weekends, we welcome you to participate in tryouts, scheduled for Feb. 19 at 1 p.m. at the Island Garden Sports complex located in West Hempstead.

We are looking for highly skilled competitive hoopsters who are willing to take their game to the "next level."

All practices will be held at St. Gertrude's Parish Center, located in Bayville. We are looking to enter local tournaments, i.e. The Bronx, Manhattan, Staten Island, Nassau and Suffolk Counties, ideally, no longer than one bridge commute.

We would highlight the AAU experience by pointing toward a weekend tournament, where the young men, accompanied by their guardian/parents, would travel, i.e. Albany, to participate in a tournament whereby overnight accommodations would be required.
