Fine Tuning a Quality Community
The Quality Communities Steering Committee met in mid-December to review the results of the open forum held at the Oyster Bay High School, Nov. 15. The group is fine tuning the information they have been gathering. Bridget Dugan of Fredrick P. Clark Associates will refine the goal statements and objectives defined at the meeting and will present a draft for their review. A technical committee will be formed to go over the goals.

Oyster Bay Tourism Map Arrives: 'At Last!'
After a long wait, and a multitude of follow up calls, the new tourism map of Oyster Bay has arrived. "Tourism is a growing industry on Long Island and brings a lot of revenue to the town in the form of 'new' dollars," said Kathy Wilson, executive director of the Oyster Bay Chamber of Commerce.

Public Skating at EAB Plaza Ice Rink
The DeMatteis Pavilion Ice Rink at EAB Plaza will open for public skating now through March 2001 according to an announcement by Stephen Rutledge, EAB Plaza's general manager. EAB Plaza, located on Hempstead Turnpike in Uniondale, is a joint venture of The DeMatteis Organization and ABN-AMRO Bank, NV.

Greater Long Island Running Club Seeks Scholarship Nominations
The Greater Long Island Running Club is now accepting nominations for its 16th annual Scholarship Award. The club plans to present $2,000 in US Savings Bonds to one or more graduating high school seniors to be selected on the basis of his or her service to the Long Island running community.
