OBHS Salutes First Quarter Great Grades
Rebecca Quarm, principal of Oyster Bay High School, invited all those students with first quarter grades over 85 percent and their parents to a special recognition breakfast. Due to the anticipated size of the group this was done on two consecutive mornings - Nov. 30 and Dec. 1. Those in Grades 7-9 were asked to come on Thursday followed by those in grades 10-12 on Friday.

OB-EN Board of Education Meeting Highlights
At the OB-EN Board of Education meeting, held Dec. 12 at Oyster Bay High School, Superintendent of Schools George J. Chesterton reported that the ranking policy will remain the same but the weighting of grades will change to reflect the more demanding curriculum of honors and advanced placement courses. Silver Award for Cadettes
Bay Association Troop 130 Honors Girl Scout Community Experience --
Ten girls from Bay Association Troop 130 received the highest award for Cadette Girl Scouts - the Silver Award, on Oct. 27. Jessica Beardsley, Meredith Brown, Victoria Demaria, Jeanne Messerschmitt, Kathleen Mullaly, Brooke Nielsen, Amanda Perkins, Jennifer Rhodes, Beth Ruben, and Sarah Satory were honored at a ceremony held at the St. Dominic Church Silveri Center.

Greater Long Island Running Club Seeks Scholarship Nominations
The Greater Long Island Running Club is now accepting nominations for its 16th annual Scholarship Award. The club plans to present $2,000 in US Savings Bonds to one or more graduating high school seniors to be selected on the basis of his or her service to the Long Island running community.
