How Well Do You Know the Area? Do you know where this week's picture was taken? If you do, call the Enterprise-Pilot at 747-8282 and let us know. If you have a picture that you think might be interesting for others to guess, drop it off in our box at Village Camera, 128 South Street, Oyster Bay.

The mystery picture, said Anthony Cassano, "Is the war memorial in Locust Valley. My friend Kirk told me," he said pleasantly.

Billy Minicozzi suggested the location was Locust Valley.

Brandon Behr, guessed, "It's the Oyster Bay Boys and Girls Club."

Katrina said, "It's either by Roosevelt Park or by Sagamore Hill." She has lived here for the past four years.

Bob Boisits hit it just right! "It's the war memorial in Locust Valley, across the street from the Grenville Baker Boys and Girls Club!"

"The mystery picture was taken in Locust Valley, across from Britten Hardware on the corner of Forest and Weir Road, near the Boys Club. I stop there every day when I'm in my car," said Beatrice Weeks Cardinale. Her family, the Weeks, have been here since 1632. "The Weeks family are one of the originals," she said.

The monument means a great deal to her since both she and her husband served in WWII. "He was in the Army and I was in the Waves. Our son served in Vietnam."

The mystery picture was a photo of a "war on trash" declared by these members of the Grenville Baker Boys & Girls Club on Oct. 5. They volunteered to be part of a weekly clean-up of the veterans Memorial Park on Forest Avenue in Locust Valley. The youngsters, ages 9 to 12, can be seen every Thursday afternoon cleaning up the park under the supervision of Rich Rhodes, the games room supervisor for the club. Seen in the photo were John Paul Lazo of Locust Valley; Andrew Lessel of Bayville, Max Ross of Locust Valley; Ford Lee, Scott Eckl, both of Bayville; Mario Noriega of Locust Valley; John Netska, Gonzales Gutierrez and Ryan Laszlo all of Bayville; Joseph Bick of Locust Valley and Nick Pray and Ryan Lee of Bayville.

Congratulations to each and every one of you!
