Fate of American Legion Site
IP Considering Potential Use for Former Hallock Property --
The fate of the American Legion building is still in limbo. Abraham Poznanski of Island Properties (IP) said, "We were concerned about the proposed destruction of the American Legion building, which was included in the rezoning application prior to our taking title of the site (in July, 2000). We have instead, winterized and weather protected this building, while we evaluate its restoration."
New Police Headquarters Proposed
Old Brookville Police Looking at Muttontown Location --
Muttontown, one of the six villages served by the Old Brookville Police Department, may become their new home. A letter went out to residents of the Village of Muttontown from their board of trustees, informing them of an important meeting. On Monday, Dec. 11, at 8 p.m. the board will discuss a proposal to relocate the Old Brookville Police Headquarters from its present site at Wolver Hollow Road and Northern Boulevard to a vacant site at the Muttontown Village Hall.
Muttontown Resident Named Grand Champion
Muttontown resident Dr. Ken Hollins and his horse Tinker Toy Reed, were named Grand Champion in their Gymkhana Division and overall High Point Grand Champion in the Islip Horsemen's Association annual competition.
North Shore Invited to Annual Ho Ho Ho Holiday Run
A special invitation has been issued to runners and walkers from Oyster Bay, East Norwich, Mill Neck, Bayville and other North Shore commuities to join in a morning of festive family fun and fitness at the 13th annual Ho Ho Ho Holiday 5 Kilometer Run, to be held on the roads of Bethpage on Sunday morning, Dec. 17.
