Runners and Walkers Invited to Oyster Festival 5 Kilometer Run
Runners and walkers of every age and ability are cordially invited to be part of the 13th annual edition of the Oyster Bay Town Supervisor's Oyster Festival 5 Kilometer Run, to be held on Saturday morning, Oct. 14, as the kickoff event of this year's Oyster Festival. The run will start in Fireman's Field in Oyster Bay at exactly 9 a.m. on the morning of the 14th. Last year's top town runners were Ross Williams of Oyster Bay at 17:43 and Louisa Garry of Locust Valley at 20:20.

Locating the Real Muttontown
The Village of Muttontown is trying to define its borders on new maps being generated with information from Nassau County. It is not as easy as it would appear, based on a comment from Matthew Meng, president of the East Norwich Civic Association. At the village's July meeting, Matthew Meng asked if the new village maps were accurate. The answer from the board was "no."
