TR's Friends Honor Supervisor
Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto was "bowled over" when he was presented with a Leadership Award by the Friends of Sagamore Hill. The presentation was made at a reception on the hill on Sunday, Aug. 13. Rain pelted down on the large white tent, but didn't stop the fun.

Robbie Hallock Hosts Classic Car Show
Postponed from the previous Sunday, due to rain, the "Late, Great Chevy's" car club held their classic car show at Robbie Hallock's Chevrolet dealership on Pine Hollow Road in Oyster Bay on Aug. 13. Over 100 cars were on display - less than had been expected due to a competing show being held in Sayville.

In the time it took to walk to the bus and ride over from the dock on Centre Island back to Centre Island Beach in Bayville, 20 minutes, the fast swimmers were emerging from the water at the 11th annual one-mile Swim-A-Cross fund raiser on Aug. 11.

Muttontown Celebrates Its Own
Muttontown Country Club member, the late Sandy Zuckerman Rothstein, will be remembered in the new title of the Big Babe Tournament to fight breast cancer. The announcement was made, on Aug. 21, by Beth Sachs, American Cancer Society director of special events, and the Babe Zaharias events on Long Island. The decision was the result of what happened earlier in this year.
