New Events Planned by Chamber
The Oyster Bay Chamber of Commerce has some exciting events coming up. On July 8, is the first annual Art Walk and on July l5 is the first Anything That Floats Race. The latter will take place along with the annual Row Around Oyster Bay fund raiser of Friends of the Bay on Centre Island Beach. They are also trying to change the time of re-surfacing of South Street by the NYS DOT, from day to night to lessen the impact on business in the village.

Community Honors Memorial Day
The Oyster Bay-East Norwich community joined the nation in honoring the veterans who died to make us free. Parade chairman, Past Commander Reginald Butt Jr. gave the opening prayer, as the chaplain of the American Legion. The 81st Memorial Day Parade was held on May 29. The service was held in view of the monuments, on South Street, where the names of local service personnel who died in the service of their country are memorialized on the bronze tablets.

LI's Finest at Belmont Stakes Festival
If you love horses, here's your chance to see them up close - personal - and working. The Nassau County mounted police unit which led the World of Horses' Parade of Breeds Sat. June 3 at Belmont Park as the 2000 Belmont Stakes Festival got underway will also be on the sidelines for the 132nd running of the Belmont Stakes June 10.
