FOB Wants West Waterfront Open
Friends of the Bay wants you to be able to enjoy the new Western Waterfront, even before the project is completed. They are talking to the Town of Oyster Bay to see if they can do the grading and grassing of the Jakobson Shipyard area and secure the ship's cradles at the end of the pier, to make the area safe for visitors this summer.

Budget Up $2 Million Over 1999
The Oyster Bay-East Norwich School Board unanimously voted to accept the 2000-2001 budget on Tuesday, April 11. The proposed budget is for $29,274,269, an increase of about $2 million over last year. The tax rate is $40.08 per $100 of assessed valuation, an increase of $4.37 over last year's figure of $35.71.

SRA Fixes the Fleet
With the spring scholastic rowing season under way at Beekman Beach, members of Sagamore Rowing Association have been working on refinishing The Carla, a 4-person shell. This boat, along with an eight purchased with a substantial donation from Allied Business Intelligence of Oyster Bay, has launched the crew program for rowers from Oyster Bay High School.
