The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation-Long Island Region, will be offering two clinics on the art of fly fishing. These indoor and outdoor workshops, conducted by the Long Island Chapter of Trout Unlimited, will concentrate on beginning and intermediate skills, casting instruction, fly-tying demonstrations and equipment displays. The schedule is as follows:

Saturday, March 4, at the Caleb Smith State Park Preserve, Jericho Turnpike, Smithtown, from 9 a.m.-noon.

Saturday, March 11, at Connetquot River State Park Preserve, Oakdale/Bohemia, from 9 a.m.-noon.

There is a vehicle use fee (parking) of $5. The workshop itself is free of charge, however pre-registration is required and begins two weeks prior to the clinic.
