According to Dr. Nicholas Coch (Queens College School of Earth and Environmental Science), Long Island is more than ripe for being hit by a major force hurricane. Periods of relative peace have always been followed by periods of intense storm activity. From all indications, we have entered a storm cycle. Chance and luck have so far kept recent major storms away from our immediate environment. Our luck may not continue forever.

St. Gertrude's Intramural Registration
St. Gertrude's Intramurals will be holding registration at the St. Gertrude's Parish Center on the next three Saturdays. This Saturday, Oct. 30, will be the final fifth and sixth grade intramural registration. The fifth and sixth grade program will be collaborating with Grenville Baker Boys & Girls Club and will be forming a combined league with games to be played at both Grenville and St. Gert's Parish Center.
