John Sobieski, 73, of Glen Cove formerly of Locust Valley, died on Sept. 4, 1999. Employee of LILCO for 40 years. Husband of Anne (nee Kopczynski). Father of Linda Pascale (Peter), John Jr. and Cynthia. Brother of Frank, Marian (Mae) Chrzanowski, the late Stanley, Chester and Edward. Special grandfather of Nicholas. Lucio Sorre, 66, of Manhattan and Old Brookville, vice president and chief wine taster of Banfi Vintners, died on Sept. 4, 1999. Born in Trieste, Italy, he emigrated to Manhattan and taught himself English. He studied at Fordham University choosing his career in wine. Mr. Sorre worked in public relations and for other importers before joining Banfi Vintners. At Banfi, he served as goodwill ambassador touring the US and Italy. He was chairman emeritus of the Sommelier Society of America and was recently elected president of the Society of Wine Educators. Husband of Charlotte. Father of Mark and Elena. Brother of Marina Colombo of Ivrea, Italy. Arrangements were made by the Oyster Bay Funeral Home. Funeral Mass at St. Dominic's RC Chapel. Interment private.
