Oyster Festival Rules Established
Harry Pinkerton, longtime resident of Oyster Bay put it succinctly: "The Oyster Festival is great. It brings more money into the community than all of the other combined events together. It's greater for the community than St. Rocco's. That is for one specific charity - the St. Dominic Schools.

Muellers Challenges NYLCV Endorsement of Canning
During a press conference held Sept. 1, Dr. Brian Muellers, the Democrat candidate for county legislator, 18th District, challenged the New York League for Conservation Voters' early endorsement of incumbent legislator, Republican John Canning. Supporting Dr. Muellers were Frank Morris, secretary and treasurer of the Green Party of Nassau County and William Steibel, political chair of the Long Island Sierra Club. The Green Party and the Long Island Sierra Club gave Dr. Muellers their endorsement for this year's November election.

Cross-Country Teams Look to Continue Success
Although the boys' cross-country team is not the most followed team at Oyster Bay High School, it has certainly been one of the most successful during the past three years. It has won three straight Class C County Championships and last year the team went undefeated to earn its first Conference Championship.
