The campaign to save the Florio house on South Street in Oyster Bay has gained some direction. Given the recently uncovered history of the house, it would qualify for Town of Oyster Bay Landmark status.

Oyster Festival Update at Meeting
Co-chair of the Oyster Festival, Scott Davis of Oyster Bay Dodge reported on the work being done to make the festival happen. His co-chair, Karen DeVine of the DeVine Funeral Home, Inc., was unable to attend the meeting. Scott is working on some of the nitty-gritty details that make the festival run: getting porta-potties, town permits and arranging for having the garbage hauled away.

Swim-A-Cross Offers Challenges
There are challenges for everyone in the annual Red Cross Swim-A-Cross. Besides the daunting one mile of bay to cross, with the wind and tide to fight, there are also personal obstacles to hurdle. The big challenge for the Red Cross is to raise money - over the past 10 years they have raised $100,000.
