Tom Kuehhas called to identify the mystery picture. "It really is the best kept secret in Oyster Bay," he said. "A secret I want to let out of the bag!
"It is the garden behind the Earle-Wightman House that is lovingly cared for by the members of the North Country Garden Club. In the center of the bed of flowers is a reproduction of a bee skep."
That was a colonial convention, where bees were lured to stop and help pollinate the flowers in the garden.
Billy Minicozzi guessed it was a flower bed at Bailey's Arboretum, which was a great suggestion. We hope you've been there.
