William (Bill) Cooper was born on Jan. 18, 1908 in Vass, NC. He departed this life on Jan. 22, 1999. Bill moved to Oyster Bay in 1969 and became a member of the Mount Olive Baptist Church in 1980, where he was a faithful and loyal member until his death.
He leaves to mourn a devoted friend, Gladys Francis, and extended family and friends of the Mount Olive Baptist Church.
He was a devoted member of the Male Chorus, Gospel Chorus, Mass Choir, Ways and Means and Kitchen Committee. Bill was always willing to lend a helping hand with a smile. Two of his favorite scriptures were: Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 1st Corinthians 13:4-7 - Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up. Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil. Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth. Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
Love is patient, love is kind, it always trust, always hope, always perservere. When we think of love, we think of all you gave us. Through your faith, there is hope and from your heart love and caring. Thank God for Bill - You will surely be missed. We all loved you but God loved you best.
