In a hard fought season, the Friends Academy Boys Varsity Soccer team captured the Conference B-5 League Championship. Captained by seniors John Reid and Justin Triolo, the team also qualified for the conference playoffs with a record of 9 wins, 2 losses, and 2 ties. Competitive to the last second, Friends lost in overtime, 2 to 1, to first seed Roslyn.

In a dramatic end to the regular season, Friends defeated Oyster Bay, 3-0, to capture the title. Sophomore Noah Weissman led a great defensive effort as goalie and fullbacks sophomore Kevin Seibert, junior Brian Oldenburg, and senior Greg Schenendorf added greatly to the offense. Next year's captains are Geoff Bernard, Jamie Strawbridge and Greg Reinwald.

Receiving all county honors for the second year was Justin Triolo. All division honors went to seniors Jon Astorga, John Reid and Jason Scott.

According to Coach Marshall Lindner, "This was not the most talented team we've ever had, but no team has worked harder. Everyone was totally committed since day one of pre-season practice." Congratulations to the team for an excellent season.
