    The work on the Christeen Oyster Sloop is one-third complete and the funding for the restoration is half way there. It has taken from total 10,000 to 12,000 man hours to restore the ship. The entire project will hopefully be complete in time for the 1999 Oyster Festival. FULL STORY

    The girls in the Oyster Bay-East Norwich PAL have finished their fall season. This year the purple team, Team #1, sponsored by Townsend Embroidery finished their 16 game season undefeated.     In a hard fought season, the Friends Academy Boys Varsity Soccer team captured the Conference B-5 League Championship. Captained by seniors John Reid and Justin Triolo, the team also qualified for the conference playoffs with a record of 9 wins, 2 losses, and 2 ties. Competitive to the last second, Friends lost in overtime, 2 to 1, to first seed Roslyn. FULL STORY
