The Oyster Bay Town Board has adopted a schedule of fees for the town golf course which reflects no increase over 1996 rates, according to Town Councilman Joseph Muscarella.
The cost of an individual membership will be $150 for residents, $300 for non-residents, $100 for senior residents (62 and older) and $200 for non-resident seniors. As a tribute to members of volunteer fire departments and the auxiliary police, there will be a special discount membership fee of $100.
"Our communities receive invaluable services from both volunteer firefighters and auxiliary police." Muscarella commented. "The town board offers this reduced rate as a way of saying thanks."
Two schedules of greens fees have been established, one for weekdays and one for weekends and holidays. Weekday greens fees will be $15 for resident members, $25 for resident non-members, $10 for senior resident members, $18 for senior resident non-members, $15 for resident juniors (under 21 years of age), $10 for resident member volunteer firefighters or auxiliary police, $18 for resident non-member volunteer firefighters or auxiliary police, $37 for guests of a resident, $30 for a non-resident members, $20 for senior non-resident members, $30 for junior non-residents, $20 for senior non-resident members, $30 for non-residents, $50 for non-residents and $36 for senior non-residents. After 5:30 p.m.. all greens fees will be half price.
Weekend and holiday greens fees will be $22 for resident members, $31 for resident non-members, $22 for senior resident members, $31 for senior resident non-members, $22 for resident juniors (under 21 years of age), $31 for resident non-member volunteer firefighters and auxiliary police, $22 for resident member volunteer firefighters and auxiliary police, $44 for non-resident members, $44 for senior non-resident members, $44 for junior non-residents, $62 for senior non-residents. Special reduced greens fees will be available after 5:30 p.m.
The councilman added that fees for motorized golf carts will be $25 for residents members, $35 for resident non-members, $45 for non-resident members and $60 for non-residents.
Starting March 3, the parks department will be accepting one-year memberships. Applications for memberships and photo identifications will be processed at the golf course, Southwoods Road and Jericho Turnpike, Woodbury, Wednesday through Sunday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. in the lower level of the clubhouse just outside the locker rooms. Residents applying for a membership must present two satisfactory proofs of residency, one containing a photo such as a driver's license plus a car registration form, tax or utility bill.
