The following letter was sent to the Atlantic Steamer Fire Company and is published with their permission.

I wish to thank you for the time and effort which Atlantic Steamer Fire Company devoted to saving the Regina Maris recently when she began to list. Without the pumps, the divers, the expert advice, the round-the-clock watches, and all the auxiliary assistance from the emergency services and concerned residents, we could never have accomplished the task of righting her and moving her into her new home.

Once she is rebuilt and refitted, the Regina Maris will again be returned to her former splendor as one of the elite fleet of remaining tall ships. Please know that you have already played an important role in accomplishing this worthy goal.
