Charles Barber Delafield, 93, died on Sept. 22, 1998. He was born in Riverdale, attended St. Paul's School and was graduated from Harvard University, Class of 1927. He worked in Kidder Peabody, Illinois Power Company and in 1946 he joined Consolidated Edison as vice president of finance. He was active in community affairs and served as director of Consolidated Telegraph & Electrical Subway Company, the Edison Electric Institute, the Fifth Avenue Association, the Hundred Year Association, the Nashua Corportation and was trustee of the New England Fund. Mr. Delafield was chairman of Blue Cross from 1972-1975 and past president of North Shore Community Hospital at Glen Cove. His clubs included the Union Club, Piping Rock Club and Sewanhaka Corinthian Yacht Club. Husband of the late Helen Q. Thorndike. Father of Eleanor Everett and Harriet Smith. Grandfather of John O. Everett and Charles Maclachlan. Great-grandfather of two. Arrangements were made by the Francis P. DeVine Funeral Home, Oyster Bay. Memorial service at St. John's Episcopal Church, Cold Spring Harbor.
Charles L. Testa, 86, of Staten Island formerly of Breezy Point, died on Sept. 29, 1998. Husband of Mary Ann Combest Testa and the late Joan Testa. Father of Barbara Farrell (James) of Staten Island and Janet Lovett (William) of Centre Island. Grandfather of Kathleen, Michele and Jean-Marie. Great-grandfather of Montana Sky. Stephen Grande, 17, of Oyster Bay, died suddenly on Oct. 1, 1998. Son of Victor and the late Patsyann. Stepson of Marianne. Brother of Michael and Matthew. Stepbrother of Ciji and Marianne.
