On Saturday, Aug. 22, The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island will hold its Fourth Annual Sports Festival at Cantiague Park in Hicksville. This year's event will once again feature competitive softball, volleyball, children's games and entertainment, raffles, sports memorabilia auction, McDonaldland Walk-A-Thon and much more.

The Aug. 22 date will be followed by a Celebrity Playoff game on Aug. 27 in which the winning softball team competes against a team of New York Islanders. Proceeds from all activities will go directly to benefit the House, a not-for-profit organization located in New Hyde Park, which serves as a home-away-from-home for the families of seriously ill children being treated at area hospitals.

Currently, the House is looking for additional teams, Walk-A-Thon participants, and sponsors to help underwrite the cost of refreshments, supplies and facilities. All sponsorships are fully tax-deductible. For additional information, call 718-343-5683.
